Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman visited Goa Naval Area on Monday. She was accompanied by the Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Sunil Lamba, PVSM, AVSM, and ADC. According to a press release issued by the Indian Navy, Sitharaman was received by Vice Admiral Girish Luthra PVSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC, Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command and Rear Admiral Puneet K Bahl VSM, Flag Officer Commanding, Goa Naval Area.

“After she arrived at INS Hansa Naval base, the Defence Minister then boarded Indian Naval Ships operating off Goa for 'Raksha Mantri Day at Sea' scheduled on Monday and Tuesday. She will be witnessing various naval operations including practice missile firings, warships submarine and aircraft interaction exercises, flying operations from aircraft carrier and fly past during the two-day sea sortie,” press release adds.
