The protest was organized by United Kashmir People’s National Party outside the UN office. They want Pakistan to stop plundering their natural resources in Gilgit-Baltistan and PoK. Protesters want the UN to intervene in the matter. They are accusing Pakistani security forces of human right violations. The protestors raised anti-Pakistan slogans and demanded dignity and freedom for the people of PoK and Gilgit Baltistan from Pakistan.

However, United Nations has not reacted yet to the protest. Earlier this week, people in Pakistan occupied Kashmir took to the streets. They protested against Pakistani government and Water & Power Development Authority. Allegedly local workers were sacked from a hydropower project under construction.

Workers say they have been replaced by 500 new workers from other parts of Pakistan like Islamabad, Karachi and other Punjabi Pakistani cities.
