India’s Kalyani Strategic Systems will showcase the country’s locally built 155 mm/52 cal Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System (ATAGS) at the Defexpo 2018 exhibition, which is set to take place in Chennai between 11–14 April.

Designed by the state-owned Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) the ATAGS is one of India’s first major military systems to have been jointly developed by the DRDO and two private-sector companies: TATA Power SED and Kalyani Strategic Systems.

Kalyani Strategic Systems had been tasked to develop and manufacture the artillery gun system, whereas TATA Power SED was in charge of developing the display, sights, and fire-control system.
