New Delhi: To counter China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and aggressive manoeuvres in the Indo-Pacifi c region, India and Japan have decided to jointly build ports along the Thailand-Myanmar border, and in Sri Lanka under Japanese PM Shinzo Abe’s ‘free and open Indo-Pacific strategy’, which includes provision of soft loans.
