The incident took place in Awapalli in Chattisgarh

B company of CRPF's 168 battalion was ambushed by Maoists who triggered an IED blast which overturned the vehicle carrying the Jawans.

Speaking to India today, a higher officer said that the troops were out for duty (from Murdanda towards Timapur) wherein Maoists attacked them around 4:10 Hours.

Injured Jawans have been taken to Basaguda Field Hospital.
