A military delegation of the Republic of India under the leadership of Chief of Army Staff General Bipin Rawat arrived in St. Petersburg, where he met with Deputy Commander for CSS of the Western Military District troops Lieutenant-General Andrei Bulyga.

During the meeting, Lieutenant General Andrei Bulyga noted that military cooperation between the two countries in the defence sphere is developing steadily, this has been repeatedly demonstrated during joint land, sea and aviation exercises.


The military delegation of India also visited the Mikhailovsky Military Artillery Academy, where they examined the training and material base. In addition, representatives of the Indian Defence Ministry plan to learn about combat and special training classes on the territory of the Taman Guards Motorised Rifle Division and the objects of the barracks-housing fund and the social infrastructure of the division.

The official visit will last till October 6.
