Kolkata: The Eastern Command commemorated the Indian Army soldiers’ valour by celebrating Parakram Parv at Princep Ghat off river Hooghly in the city on Saturday through day-long celebrations.

The celebrations included display of state-of-the-art Army equipment. Visitors including students along with parents, teachers and large gathering of civilians were not only mesmerised by the weapon display but were also enthralled by a stellar pipe band display.

Veterans also formed part of the celebrations and were felicitated for their yeomen services to the nation.

The patriotic spirit and pride of the locals and parents were evident as all wanted to take pictures with the soldiers, with the selfie corner being favourite among the students.

The school students carried handcrafted greetings cards for the soldiers. A talk on “Know your Indian Army” and procedure to join Indian Army was also conducted.
