Army chief General Bipin Rawat said Pakistan wants to stall development in Kashmir but India is strong enough to counter these attempts. Said stonepelters must realise it is ultimately their loss

Army chief General Bipin Rawat has once again attacked Pakistan saying it is using terror as means to keep its "pot boiling". General Rawat said Pakistan wants to stall the developmental works in Jammu and Kashmir but India is strong enough to thwart such attempts.

"Pakistan is fully aware it can never succeed. Terror is another [means used] by it to keep the pot boiling. They want to stall development in Kashmir but Indian state is strong enough to counter everything," he told news agency ANI on Saturday.

The army chief said India is "fully capable of carrying out different operations".

Speaking about the Jawan who lost his life in stonepelting on Thursday, General Rawat said, "The jawan who died after being attacked by stone pelters was guarding a border roads team which was constructing roads. And, we have some people saying don't treat stonepelters like over ground workers of terrorists."

Twenty-two-year-old Sepoy Rajendra Singh was killed on Thursday after protesters pelted stones at an Army convoy at the Anantnag bypass tri-junction in Jammu and Kashmir.

He was part of a quick reaction team which was providing security to a Border Roads Organisation convoy. He was injured after a stone hit his head directly during the protest.

The army chief said that the stonepelters must understand that by doing this they tare the ones who are at loss.
