The J&K Police on Monday busted at least two terror modules in south Kashmir

JAMMU: In a major breakthrough, the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday busted two terror modules linked to the proscribed terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in south Kashmir and recovered a huge quantity of incriminating material in the process.

According to ANI, the authorities also arrested at least 10 close associates of the JeM from Tral area of Awantipora and Khrew area of Pampore.

Four out of those arrested by the J&K Police from Tral have been identified as Younis Nabi Naik, a resident of Pinglish, Fayaz Ahmad Wani, a resident of Reshipora, Riyaz Ahmad Ganaie, the resident of Nigeenpora and Bilal Ahmad Rather, a resident of Hafoo Nigeenpora.

A second terror module was also busted by the J&K Police in the Khrew locality. 

At least six close associates of JeM have been arrested in this connection from the Khrew locality.

Those arrested have been identified as JA Parray, who hails from Bethan Khrew,YB Wani, who is a resident of Babapora Khrew, TY Lone, a resident of Khrew, RA Bhat, a resident of Sharshali Khrew, JA Khanday, a resident of Khrew and Imran Nazir, a resident of Mandakpaul Naimsaab Khrew.

They all been taken into custody and are being interrogated for more leads.

A police spokesperson said a special team was constituted to investigate the surge in terrorist attacks in Tral in which civilians and security forces were targeted and created an atmosphere of panic and fear in the area.

"Police in south Kashmir busted two terror modules of proscribed terror outfit JeM and arrested 10 of its associates in Tral area of Awantipora and Khrew area of Pampore," the J&K Police spokesperson said.

"Huge quantity of incriminating material was recovered from this terror module, including gelatin sticks, detonators, materials for making IEDs and grenades. All the incriminating material has been taken in case records to investigate their complicity in other terror crimes," he said.

Initial probe has revealed their complicity in several terror attacks in Tral and south Kashmir, he added.
