Agartala: The border security force (BSF) has proposed installation of Laser Wall technology alongside fencing in Indo-Bangladesh border in Tripura to evade unlawful activities across the border as part of strengthening first line of defence, officials sources here today said.

The BSF has been facing multiple challenges to manage the border, following increasing incidences of cross border crime, infiltration and smuggling activities despite having wire fencing over 90 per cent of the borderline in the state, which promoted them to use of laser technology.

This innovative technique has been identified as the most effective way to meet the border management difficulties that BSF Jawans confront due to adverse terrine. The laser shield technology incorporated an innovative touch sensitive alarm system. If anyone tries to breach the fence through any part of the border it will alert the men in border, officials explained.
