Indian Army Takes Defence Attache From 29 Countries To Historic Nathu La, A Border With China In Eastern Himalaya
Darjeeling:The Indian Army conducted a familiarisation tour of Defence Attachés from 29 countries to historic Natu La, an icy mountain pass ( 4310 mts), above sea level, an Indian border with China in Sikkim Himalaya, and other places of tourist interests in Sikkim from May 1 and 2.
The aim of the visit was to showcase the operational challenges and the environment under which the Indian Army operates in these remote and inhospitable terrain, said a defence release.
The Defence Attachés visited Chhangu lake, Banjhakari waterfall, Himalayan Zoological Park and other such scenic places reflecting beautiful and diverse land, tradition and cultural heritage of India.
