Rafale replica installed outside the Congress headquarters

A replica of the Rafale fighter jet was installed in front of the house of Indian Air Force Chief B S Dhanoa in Lutyens Delhi on Friday morning (31 May). What gives the matter an unique angle is the fact that the Air Chief Marshal’s residence in just opposite to the Congress headquarters.
This means that the Congress leaders would be able to see the replica every time they step outside the party headquarters.

In the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections, the Rahul Gandhi led Congress party had raised a huge hue and cry over the Indian government’s deal with Dassault for 36 Rafale jets.

The party kept alleging a huge scam in the deal while spreading misinformation over the offset clause in an attempt to allege crony capitalism on the government’s part.

Rahul Gandhi also coined the phrase Chowkidar Chor Hai and also falsely attributed it to the Supreme Court which resulted in him having to apologise for contempt of court.
