The Indian Navy deployed various teams to Maharashtra’s Kurla area on July 2 after heavy rains hit the city of Mumbai. Heavy, incessant rains left 16 people dead, and since yesterday Mumbai has received the heaviest rain in a decade.

In this hour of crisis, the Navy has shown utmost courage and dedication towards their work by helping people. Around 1000 people were evacuated from Kranti Nagar, Kurla, to 'prevent any untoward incidents due to overflowing Mithi river,’ Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Disaster Management said on Twitter.

Taking to Twitter, Indian Navy’s official account tweeted pictures of officials deployed at various places to provide relief to rain-hit and stranded Mumbaikars in Kurla area. In the pictures, the Navy can be seen using rafts to help people.
