India and Pakistan have been at loggerheads since the Pulwama terror attack in February where over 40 CRPF jawans were martyred in a dastardly attack carried out by Pakistan-based terrorist organisation JeM

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday said that his country is absolutely positive of peace, prosperity and development in the region, amid demand from international community over the heightened tensions with India lately.

“Pakistan is heading positively towards peace and development and shall carry on the same outlook towards ensuring peace and prosperity,” news agency PTI quoted Bajwa as saying during an address to the 222nd Corps Commanders’ Conference at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.

Geopolitical strategies, regional and national security environment of Pakistan which pertains to countries such as India, Iran, Afghanistan, along with sanctions and actions on proscribed organisations in the country were among the key topic discussed.

India and Pakistan have been at loggerheads since the Pulwama terror attack in February where over 40 CRPF jawans were martyred in a dastardly attack carried out by Pakistan-based terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed. Following that, around 12 days later, India and Pakistan engaged in a dirty dogfight after Indian Air Force fighter jets destroyed terror training camps in Pakistan’s Balakot on February 26 and the very next day Pakistani fighter jets entered Indian territory along the International Border.

India has since then maintained that there would not be any diplomatic talks with the Islamic nation, be it bilateral or at any neutral diplomatic forum. India has continued to snub Pakistan’s efforts to hold talks and said that ‘terror and talks cannot go hand in hand’.
