Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, who rose to fame after downing Pakistan's F-16 in an air battle following the Balakot airstrike, returned to flying on Monday and performed sortie with Indian Air Force chief BS Dhanoa in a MiG-21.


Abhinandan Varthaman was captured by the Pakistani military when he landed in Pakistan after a fierce air battle with the neighbour country's F-16 fighter jet on February 27 this year. Abhinandan was held captive for around 60 hours.
