Pakistani demonstrators protest the scrapping of the special constitutional status in Kashmir by the Indian government, outside the Indian High Commission in London

UK-based Kashmiri separatists, pro-Pakistan and pro-Khalistan outfits held unruly demonstration outside Indian High Commission in London on August 15 and September 3. As India has strongly urged the UK to take necessary steps to ensure safety and security of the personnel working at the mission, Dipanjan Roy Chaudhury reports on the groups and leaders present during the violent protests:

Pro-Pak Groups

Tehrik-e-Kashmir-UK; J&K Self Determination Movement; All Party Kashmir Coordination Committee, Global Pakistan and Kashmir Supreme Council, Daughters of Kashmir, Pakistan PTI-UK, Jamaate-Islami-UK, Tehrik-e-Labbaik, Ahle Sunnah-wa-Jamaat and Madina Trust-UK, among others.

Pro-Khalistan Outfits

Sikhs for Justice, Babbar Khalsa International, Council of Sikhs, British Sikhs, United Akali Dal, World Sikh Parliament, Sikh Federation (UK), Sikh Youth-UK, Guru Shri Guru Singh Sabha among others.

Prominent Sikh Leaders

Ranjit Singh Sarai (Council of Khalistan); Paramjit Singh Pamma (Sikhs For Justice) During the protest on Aug 15, Pakistan, Turkey and Palestine flags along with those of PoK and Khalistani were displayed at the 5-hour protest.

Khalistani flag was hoisted on a makeshift pole in front of HCI entrance by Sikhs for Justice, World Sikh Parliament, Kesri Lehar, Sikh Council and Akhand Kirtani Jatha.

Kashimiri centric outfits burnt the Indian flag in front of HCI on Aug 15.
