Beijing: A day after publicly acknowledging for the first time that there were casualties in the People’s Liberation Army during the horrific Galwan Valley clash at the Line of Actual Control in June 2020, China on Saturday accused the Indian media of hyping Chinese casualties from the clash and failing to understand their “sincerity and kindness”.

“While the Chinese are mourning for the four young soldiers killed in last year’s border conflicts with Indian troops after China officially revealed the details of casualties on Friday, some Indian media and netizens are instead still hyping up China’s casualties and doubting the timing of China’s release of the information, which Chinese experts slammed as self-deception and a failure to understand China’s kindness and sincerity to ensure smooth completion of the ongoing disengagement process,” Chinese state-run media publication Global Times said in a report.

Furthermore, the report claimed that India exaggerated the figure at a time China was mourning the deaths of their soldiers.

“The report led Chinese netizens to flood to social media platforms mourning the heroes who fought and made sacrifices for the country, praying for peace. However, on the contrary, some Indian media still exaggerated China’s casualties on social media platforms, claiming China suffered more than 40 deaths, and doubted the so-called eight-month delay for China in releasing information and footage,” the media publication said.
China on Friday released a purported video, claiming it to be from the Galwan Valley clash where 20 Indian Army soldiers were martyred trying to push back the belligerent PLA troops advancing into Indian territory.

“An on-site video reveals in detail the four PLA martyrs and other brave Chinese soldiers at the scene of the Galwan Valley border clash with India in June 2020,” the Global Times had said while sharing the video.
