Security agencies from Kashmir to Delhi have been put on high alert

While security agencies have been put on high alert ahead of Independence Day, new intel inputs have revealed that Pakistan-based terror outfits have made elaborate plans to target security establishments, forward posts and have been pushing arms and ammunition into the country.

Multiple intelligence inputs shared with law enforcement agencies have said that terror organizations, including Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed are planning major terror strikes around Independence Day on August 15.

Security agencies from Kashmir to Delhi have been put on high alert over the past weeks in anticipation of terror threats. Intelligence inputs have said attempts can be made to push in terrorists loaded with arms and ammunition into the Indian territory.

Key establishments, security installations, forward posts and defence forces are on the target, said sources that have also warned that sophisticated IEDs may be used for the attacks.

India Today TV has accessed four crucial intel inputs that have warned of Lashkar and Jaish terrorists planning to infiltrate the Indian territory, including Delhi around August 15.

What Are The Intel Inputs?

1. Firstly, the intel inputs have said that the terrorists are planning attacks in the run-up to the Independence Day celebrations on August 15. Pakistan-based hostile elements have been pushing firearms, ammunition, and IEDs into India to carry out terror attacks over the past weeks. Security forces in Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir have intercepted several drones over the past month while they were trying to make arms drops.

Small arms could be used for individual targets, said the intel intelligence, and added that a special type of IED has been supplied into the country, which can be used for blasts at public places.

The Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) with 2-3 kgs of RDX are initiated by a spring and toggle switch-based pressure mechanism or a printed circuit.

Two slightly distanced magnets can also be placed in case the IED is manhandled and the magnet gets stick to each other and the circuit gets completed. As per the input, such IEDs have already been smuggled into the country.

In view of the threat, GRP, local police, paramilitary forces and state intelligence authorities have been asked to stay alert while dealing with suspicious objects.

They have also been advised of the use of metal detectors, which may inadvertently set off IEDs due to the presence of magnets.

2. Six Lashkar commanders under one the leadership of commander Mohd Sadiq are currently based in Kotil in Pak-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) and may attempt to infiltrate into the country and target security establishments around August 15.

3. Five Jaish terrorists are camping in Datote, also in PoK, across Balakot, who are planning an IED blast near the forward locations of security forces.

4. Four Lashkar terrorists are planning to infiltrate and are currently camping in Tundwala forest area of PoK and may later move to the Kashmir valley.
