The IAF has been invited by the Government of UAE to participate with the Sarang and Suryakiran Aerobatics teams

An Indian Air Force (IAF) contingent will be participating in the biennial Dubai Air Show to be held at the Al Maktoum International Airport from November 14 to 18.

The IAF has been invited by the Government of UAE to participate with the Sarang and Suryakiran Aerobatics teams. The IAF's Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas will also be part of the aerobatics and static displays during the show.

While the Sarang team had previously participated in the Al Ain Grand Prix in the UAE in 2005, the Suryakiran and Tejas teams will show off their aerial manoeuvres at the Dubai Air Show for the first time.

The IAF teams will be performing along with some of the well known aerobatics and display teams in the world, including the Saudi Hawks, Russian Knights and the UAE's Al Fursan.

The IAF contingent received a warm welcome by Major General Staff Pilot Ishaq Saleh Mohammed al-Balushi of the UAE Armed Forces and other officers of the UAE Air Force.

The Suryakiran team will be flying the BAE Hawk jet. The Sarang team will be on five Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH), Dhruvs, made by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).

The induction was supported by the IAF’s C-17 Globemaster IIIs and C-130J Super Hercules. The teams will now prepare for the opening ceremony on November 14.
