A Hindu shopkeeper was killed in Udaipur by two men over a social media post in support of Nupur Sharma

The gruesome murder of a Hindu tailor, Kanhaiya Lal, in Rajasthan’s Udaipur, was a terror act by a sleeper cell of a Pakistan-based radical outfit, intelligence sources told India Today.

In another development, three more people have been arrested and more than 10 people have been rounded up.

Two men murdered a tailor on Tuesday and posted videos online that said they were avenging an insult to Islam after the victim had allegedly made social media posts in support of suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma.

Anti-Terror Agency To Investigate

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has ordered the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to take over the probe into the murder of the Hindu shopkeeper.

The anti-terror agency will investigate the involvement of any extremist or terror outfits and foreign conspiracies in the case.

Udaipur Killing

Two people beheaded a man in broad daylight at his tailoring shop in a market in Udaipur city on Tuesday. The murder was recorded on camera and the video went viral on social media.

Kanhaiya Lal is believed to have been killed over a social media post supporting the comments of suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma.

The killers — identified as Gaus Mohammed and Riyaz Ahmed — who killed Kanhaiya Lal then admitted to the murder and threatened PM Narendra Modi in another video.

Kanhaiya Lal is survived by his wife and two sons.
