Bangalore: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has ordered an inquiry by the Board of Investigation to find the exact reason for Su-30MKI crash at HAL Nashik during a sortie in local flying area of Ozar Airport at 11 hours.

HAL, headquartered in Bangalore, in a release here on Wednesday said that " Su 30 MkI, produced at HAL Nashik crashed during a sortie in local flying area of Ozar (Nashik) Airport today at 11 hrs."

Stating that both the pilots were safe, HAL release added " It was piloted by Wg Cdr Prashant Nair accompanied by Sqn Ldr L Biswal (Flight Test Engineer). Both ejected safely."
