On her official Twitter handle, the PDP chief lauded Imran Khan for honoring Guru Nanak ji, calling his initiatives as 'heartening, and questioned the Centre on its priorities. The Congress party, rather than coming down heavily on Mufti for her statements, also toed Pakistan's line as they tried to politically attack the Indian government

Former Jammu &Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday courted massive controversy by singing praise in favor Pakistan and its PM Imran Khan while criticising the Indian government for concentrating on issues like Ram Mandir.

On her official Twitter handle, the PDP chief lauded Imran Khan for honouring Guru Nanakji, calling his initiatives as 'heartening, and questioned the Centre on its priorities.
Surprisingly, Mehbooba Mufti has been very quiet on issues concerning the atrocious acts the Pakistani-sponsored terrorists, which includes brutal killings of security forces and civilians near the border.

The PDP supremo, who is quick to pounce on the Indian army after any incident, did not choose to slam Pakistan or the terrorists when it came to the horrific murder of a 25-year-old girl in Shopian earlier this month.

"Women living in conflict areas like Kashmir have faced unimaginable pain & trauma. No words are enough to condemn her gruesome and barbaric murder," she had wrote on Twitter.

Following her remarks, the Congress party, instead of coming down heavily on Mufti for her statements, also toed Pakistan's line as they tried to politically attack the Indian government. Ranveer Singh Bittu, the grand old party's MLA from Ludhiana, had no qualms with those, including the PDP chief, appreciating Pakistan for their recent gestures.

"If the PM of Pakistan is doing something good, then it should be appreciated. We all welcome if he has spoken about Kartarpur Sahib. What we said was about General Bajwa (Pakistan army chief) and (Pakistan) army. Everyone else has appreciated Imran Khan. The Indian government is well behind the massive work which is going on and has been done in Pakistan. So if she (Mufti) has appreciated Imran Khan, it is a good thing," he said.

The remarks by Mehbooba Mufti and Congress comes on a day when the security forces in Kashmir registered a massive win by eliminating five Pakistan-sponsored terrorists in the Pulgam district.
