New York: In a major embarrassment for the Congress, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said that previous Congress Home Minister gave a statement that in RSS camps, terrorists are being trained. In 2013, Union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde has accused the BJP and the RSS of fanning Hindu terrorism.

Peddling his anti-India rhetoric during his UNGA address, Khan continued with his rhetoric on Jammu & Kashmir and India’s landmark decision to abrogate Article 370. The Pakistani PM also failed to respect the time limit set by the UN and continued his diatribe against India.

This is not the first time that Khan has quoted the Congress while attacking the Narendra Modi-led BJP government.

Warning of ‘bloodbath’ when the curfew is lifted from Kashmir Khan also talked about the consequences of war between the nuclear-armed neighbours’ urging the international community to be prepared for the 'worst'.

"For a start, they have to lift the curfew, that's the beginning. Even the Congress party in India has commented that poor people have been shut inside for 50 days. No one knows what's happening with the political prisoners... (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi has boxed himself in a blind alley," ANI quoted Khan as saying.

Earlier this month, a leaked Pakistan's dossier on Jammu and Kashmir included statements made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and National Conference (NC) leader Omar Abdullah after the abrogation of Article 370.

Quoting Gandhi the dossier read, “It has been 20 days since the people of Jammu and Kashmir had their freedom and civil liberties curtailed. Leaders of the Opposition and Press got a taste of draconian administration and brute force unleashed on people of Jammu and Kashmir when we tried to visit Srinagar.”

In another embarrassment for the grand old party, Pakistan's Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari last month wrote a letter to 18 UN Special Procedures mandate on the Kashmir issue. In her letter, Mazari claimed that Gandhi had said that people are dying in Jammu and Kashmir.

To save the party from further embarrassment Gandhi clarified his stand and slammed Pakistan for instigating violence in Jammu and Kashmir asked Islamabad to stop interfering in India's internal issues.

The grand old party also reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir was, is, and shall always remain a part of India.

Meanwhile, India has said it will use the Right to Reply option to respond to Pakistan PM Imran Khan's speech at the UNGA.

By Right to Reply, any country can have the right to defend itself against criticism at the same venue where the statement was made.
