Srinagar: A 15-member National Conference delegation on Sunday met party chief Farooq Abdullah and his son Omar, who have been placed under preventive detention in Srinagar since August 5.

In a video, shared by news agency ANI, NC leaders Hasnain Masoodi and Akbar Lone can be seen meeting former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq and his wife at their residence in Srinagar.

Speaking to media after meeting the father-son duo, provincial president Devendra Singh Rana said that both are unhappy because of the prevailing situation in the state.

"We are happy that they are both well and in high spirits, of course they are pained by the developments in the state. If the political process has to start then mainstream leaders have to be released," he said.

The delegation, led by Rana, arrived in Kashmir Valley earlier today, a day after the Jammu and Kashmir administration allowed them to meet the father-son duo.
