In a massive crackdown on terror-related activities in Jammu and Kashmir, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has carried out raids at 16 locations in connection with two cases.

The elite counterterrorism agency conducted raids across nine locations in Srinagar, Anantnag, Kulgam, and Baramulla as part of its probe into the ISIS-Voice of Hind case.

The dreaded terror outfit has been releasing an online monthly India-centric magazine by the name of ‘Voice of Hind’ (VOH) since February 2020, which emerged as a fountainhead of large-scale radicalisation of Muslim youth in the Valley.

On Sunday, the NIA raided the house of one Nayeem Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Aaripora Zewan, who works as a driver at the Hassan Road Construction Company. The second raid was laid on the residence of Mushtaq Ahmad Dar in Baghi Nand Singh Chattabal; total five mobile phones were seized from the suspects during the raids.

The agency raided the house of Suhail Ahmad Bhat, resident of Solina Payeen, PS Shergarhi and detained Bahauddin Sahab Nowhatta from the residence of Tahir Ahmad Najar and also seized one laptop and a mobile phone from him.

The NIA team also searched the house of Afhan Parvez Jarabi in Anzimar, Khanyar, who deals in sports item.

Raids were conducted across seven locations in Srinagar, Sopore and Anantnag in the NIA's ongoing investigation into The Resistance Front (TRF), backed by the Lashkar-e-Taiba and other terror groups like the Hizbul Mujahideen and Jaish-e-Mohammed.

TRF commander Sajjad Gul’s house was also raided in Srinagar.

The TRF case pertains to the Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist apprehended with 5 kg IED in Bhatindi in Jammu. Raids were carried out in Jammu and Kashmir in connection with the NIA probe into the LeT’s plans to carry out an IED explosion in Jammu hours before the drone strikes on the Indian Force base there on June 27.
