'Asim Munir A Fanatic, Paid The Price': Former Envoy To Pakistan G Parthasarthy Hails Op Sindoor

Former Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan, G Parthasarathy, has strongly praised the Indian Armed Forces and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership following Operation Sindoor, calling it a “decisive victory” for India.
He specifically criticized Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir, labeling him a “fanatic” whose aggressive posture against India led to a humiliating defeat for Pakistan. Parthasarathy asserted that Munir “paid the price” for believing he could challenge India, and described the outcome as a disgraceful defeat for the Pakistani military establishment.
Operation Sindoor was launched by India on May 7, 2025, in direct response to the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which killed 26 tourists. The Indian Armed Forces executed coordinated air, land, and sea strikes targeting nine major terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), including camps of Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad, and Hizbul Mujahideen. The operation was notable for its precision and scale: 24 missile strikes were conducted in just 25 minutes, resulting in the elimination of over 100 terrorists and significant damage to 11 Pakistani military air bases.
Indian officials emphasized that their fight was against terrorist infrastructure, not the Pakistani military itself. However, they held the Pakistan Army responsible for escalating the conflict by siding with terrorist groups, which necessitated India’s forceful response. Air Marshal AK Bharti, Director-General of Operations for the Indian Air Force, highlighted that India’s actions were “measured and calibrated,” with a clear focus on minimizing civilian casualties while delivering a strong message to Pakistan’s leadership and military.
The strikes included high-profile targets such as the Malir Cantonment near Karachi, radar installations in Lahore, and the Nur Khan airbase in Rawalpindi, demonstrating India’s capability and resolve to strike deep within Pakistani territory. Videos released by the Indian government showed extensive damage to Pakistani military infrastructure, underscoring the operation’s effectiveness.
In the aftermath, Pakistan’s response was swift but largely contained, as Indian air defenses successfully intercepted retaliatory drone and missile attacks. The two countries agreed to a ceasefire after four days of intense hostilities, but not before India had “put Pakistan on notice” regarding any future provocations.
Parthasarathy also commented on the internal dynamics within Pakistan, suggesting that Operation Sindoor would intensify political and ethnic divisions, particularly as the predominantly Punjabi Pakistan Army faced criticism from other ethnic groups for the outcome of the conflict. He stressed that India’s unified deployment of the Army, Air Force, and Navy was a testament to the nation’s resolve and capability, and called for continued vigilance and firmness in India’s strategic posture.
Operation Sindoor marked a significant escalation in India-Pakistan tensions, with India’s decisive military action sending a clear warning to Pakistan’s leadership and military, particularly to General Asim Munir, whose aggressive stance was met with a forceful and effective Indian response.
