The move miffed Pakistan, a country that has time and again used Kashmir for its proxy wars and terrorist activities

Geneva: India on Thursday slammed Pakistan for misusing international forums repeatedly to push its narrative on the Kashmir matter, during the 42nd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, adding that the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir was stopping Pakistan from sponsoring cross border terrorism along the Line of Control.

“None of Pakistan’s attempts to misrepresent our decision under different agendas can hide its territorial ambitions over Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan’s frantic reactions could be well understood as our decision is creating obstacles in their continuous sponsorship of cross border terrorism against India,” Kumam Mini Devi, First Secretary in the Permanent Mission of India at the UNHRC, said.

Calling Jammu and Kashmir an internal matter, she reiterated that J&K is within India’s sovereign right. “We deplore the repeated misuse of the UNHRC by Pakistan with fabricated narratives against India. Our decision on Jammu and Kashmir is within our sovereign right and it is our internal matter.”
