Lockheed Martin and TATA Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) held an industry engagement day in Bangalore on 9 October as part of efforts to secure supply chain partnerships in the proposed program to build F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft in India.

A spokesperson from Lockheed Martin told Jane’s that the two companies – and 24 principal F-16 suppliers – met with more than 70 local micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) to expand F-16 collaboration opportunities.

The spokesperson added, “This is a forum for Lockheed Martin, TATA, Tier-1 F-16 suppliers, and Indian industry to meet with and learn about one another. It’s also an opportunity for Indian companies to establish new business relationships with Lockheed Martin, TATA, and other global aerospace and defence industry leaders.”
