The military delegation of the Indian Republic led by Chief of the Naval Staff of the Indian Navy, Admiral Sunil Lanba, visited the Nakhimov Naval Academy and the cruiser Aurora in St. Petersburg.

The guests got acquainted with the modern training equipment and facilities in this unique school, learned about its history and traditions, educational process for the Nakhimov cadets.

Also according to the program of the visit, the Indian naval delegation visited the legendary cruiser Aurora, where they toured expositions of the branch of the Central Naval Museum on board the ship and looked over its interior, deck equipment and weapons.

The visit of the Indian delegation to St. Petersburg started on November 26 as Admiral Sunil Lanba met with Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Admiral Vladimir Korolyev in the Building of the Main Admiralty.

At the meeting, the sides discussed cooperation and interaction in the naval sphere, emphasising high level of mutual understanding between the navies of the two countries. The sides also discussed the Indra Navy joint naval exercise, participation of the Indian Navy in the IX International Maritime Defence Exhibition, which is to be held in June in St. Petersburg.

During the meeting, the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy informed the Indian side that the third Main Naval Parade held in St. Petersburg in July 2019 will be attended by naval delegations and will be an excellent platform for discussing cooperation in naval sphere."
