Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai is currently on an international outreach mission aimed at positioning the state as an attractive global investment hub. As part of this initiative, Sai met with Lee Jae Jeng, the Chairman of the Advanced Technology Centre Association (ATCA), along with senior officials in Seoul, South Korea.

ATCA is a major consortium representing over 60 companies spanning sectors such as IT, electronics, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, and textiles. In his meeting, the Chief Minister extended an invitation to ATCA representatives to visit Chhattisgarh during their upcoming India tour and assess opportunities for collaboration.

Stressing Chhattisgarh’s investor-friendly policy landscape, Sai underlined how the state provides a conducive ecosystem for companies looking to expand in emerging markets, particularly in high-growth sectors where global technology and innovation can find deep integration.

Sai’s engagement in Seoul represents the second leg of his ongoing international tour across Japan and South Korea, which has been facilitated by the Indian Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), Government of India.

This mission, featuring a high-level delegation, reflects Chhattisgarh’s proactive efforts to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) and establish long-term international collaborations.

The visit builds upon Sai’s earlier engagements in Tokyo, Japan, where from August 22 to 24 he held a series of strategic business interactions with industry leaders, trade associations, and investors.

Among the notable interactions was his meeting with Kayo Ito, CEO of NTT Ltd Japan, a global tech leader with a revenue base of around USD 90 billion.

The discussions focused primarily on advanced IT infrastructure, digital transformation strategies, and tech-driven investment opportunities in Chhattisgarh, underscoring the state’s keenness to become a significant node in the global digital economy.

In addition to formal meetings, Sai also attended a dinner hosted by Indian Ambassador to Japan, Sibi George, where discussions focused on leveraging Japanese technology to boost Chhattisgarh’s industrial ecosystem. Specific emphasis was placed on strengthening sustainable Indo-Pacific trade and advancing industrial sectors in the state through deeper bilateral synergies.

On August 25, the Chief Minister’s delegation proceeded to Osaka to participate in World Expo 2025 engagements, where Chhattisgarh will have a prominent presence through its pavilion at Bharat Mandapam.

The pavilion will highlight Chhattisgarh’s unique convergence of rich cultural heritage with a forward-looking innovation-driven economic landscape. The focus will be to showcase investment-ready opportunities in key areas such as steel, mining, clean and renewable energy, industrial infrastructure, and start-up ecosystems, thereby attracting a diverse international investor base.

The Seoul visit from August 27 to 29 represents the finale of this high-profile investment promotion campaign. Here, Sai is expected to lead multiple investor round table meetings, interact with representatives of leading South Korean conglomerates, and participate in sector-specific dialogues aimed at forging strategic partnerships.

Korea’s strong capabilities in electronics, semiconductors, clean energy, and manufacturing are viewed by the Chhattisgarh government as highly complementary to the state’s ambitions to develop as a hub of modern, sustainable industries.

By positioning Chhattisgarh within global investment narratives and strengthening cross-border industry linkages, Sai’s international roadshow not only projects confidence in the state’s investor-friendly environment but also signals a broader aspiration to make Chhattisgarh a vital contributor to India’s economic growth trajectory under the Indo-Pacific framework.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s engagements across Tokyo, Osaka, and Seoul mark a significant milestone in Chhattisgarh’s external economic diplomacy. With high-level dialogues involving global industry leaders, institutional investors, and trade associations, the visit underscores a focused strategy to integrate global capital, technology, and know-how into the state’s growth model.

By combining traditional industrial strengths in steel and mining with emerging areas such as IT, clean energy, and advanced digital technologies, the state intends to position itself at the forefront of India’s next phase of industrial transformation.

The outreach, supported by the Government of India, sets the stage for translating intent into tangible investment inflows and creating sustainable, innovation-led growth for Chhattisgarh in the years ahead.
