Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will arrive in New Delhi on Saturday, to expand overall ties between the two countries with a key focus on defence and security, counter-terror cooperation, trade and investment and ways to tackle climate change.

Trudeau will be on a seven-day visit to New Delhi starting today.

Earlier, the National security advisers of both countries met and prepared the groundwork for Trudeau and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to expand the defence and security ties.

India is also expected to raise the concern over rising Sikh radicalism in certain parts of Canada.

On trade, the media reports said that Canadian investments in India were likely to decline in absence of a mechanism to protect them.

Besides meeting PM Modi, Trudeau accompanied by his wife and three children will also visit Agra, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Amritsar.
