The Chinese Envoy to India, Xu Feihong, stated that the SCO summit in Tianjin had served to build consensus and draw a blueprint for development. Chinese President Xi Jinping highlighted that the SCO has grown into a significant force promoting a new type of international relations and building a community with a shared future for humanity.

The summit aimed to build consensus among all parties, ignite cooperation momentum, and outline development plans. It is expected that with collective efforts, the SCO will play an even greater role globally.

At the 2025 SCO Summit, India and other SCO member states committed to deepening cooperation in Artificial Intelligence (AI). The Tianjin Declaration emphasised equal rights for all countries to develop and use AI and the readiness among SCO members to work together to prevent risks and improve AI's security, accountability, transparency, and fairness.

Proposals for AI cooperation mechanisms and advanced technologies were discussed, including implementing the Roadmap for the SCO AI Cooperation Program established in June 2025. Notably, a humanoid AI robot named Xiao was deployed to assist at the summit, symbolising the importance placed on technological innovation.

In addition to AI, President Xi Jinping proposed boosting collaboration in energy, infrastructure, digital economy, science and tech innovation.

The SCO declaration also included joint commitments to combat terrorism, with the summit expressing strong condemnation of terrorism in all forms and the adoption of a reform-oriented approach to address challenges like organised crime, drug trafficking, and cybersecurity.

The SCO has expanded its membership and influence over 24 years, currently covering vast geographical areas and populations and asserting itself as a major multilateral regional organisation promoting peace, security, economic cooperation, and a new model of international relations beyond traditional Western frameworks.
