PM Modi And PM Netanyahu Review Special Strategic Partnership In A Phone Conversation, Discuss West Asia Developments

Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a telephonic call from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday.
The two leaders reviewed the progress achieved under the India-Israel Special Strategic Partnership and discussed recent developments in West Asia. The Prime Minister’s Office confirmed the details of the conversation in an official release.
Both leaders reiterated their commitment to further deepen bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors for mutual benefit. The release emphasised that the Special Strategic Partnership continues to make sustained progress and remains a cornerstone of India-Israel relations. Modi and Netanyahu agreed to remain in close touch as regional dynamics evolve.
The discussion also covered the situation in West Asia, where both leaders exchanged views on ongoing developments. Their dialogue reflected the importance of maintaining regular communication to address regional challenges and opportunities. The call followed a similar conversation in March this year, when the two leaders had spoken about the regional situation.
India and Israel have continued to expand cooperation across diverse sectors. In July, both countries concluded the second round of negotiations for the proposed Free Trade Agreement. The negotiations reaffirmed their commitment to an early conclusion of a balanced, comprehensive and mutually beneficial agreement aimed at strengthening bilateral trade, investment and economic ties.
In June, Israeli Ambassador to India Reuven Azar highlighted that India-Israel relations remain on an “amazing trajectory” despite the conflict in West Asia.
He pointed to expanding cooperation in defence, infrastructure, finance and trade as evidence of the resilience of the partnership. Azar noted that bilateral ties have strengthened consistently over the past three years, with both countries deepening engagement across multiple sectors.
The Special Strategic Partnership has become a defining feature of India-Israel relations, encompassing defence, technology, innovation, and economic collaboration. It reflects the shared vision of both nations to advance mutual prosperity while contributing to regional stability.
The latest conversation between Modi and Netanyahu underscores the determination of both governments to sustain momentum in their partnership and to navigate regional complexities together.
