Elimination of Pahalgam Attackers: Army Shares New Clip On Op Sindoor

The Indian Army’s Northern Command on Wednesday released a new video
highlighting significant aspects of Operation Sindoor, a major
counter-terrorism offensive launched in response to the Pahalgam massacre of
April 2025, in which 26 innocent civilians tragically lost their lives.
The operation has been presented as a classic case of "restraint turning into
a decisive response," underlining India’s evolving approach to combating
cross-border terrorism.

The footage, shared publicly on the platform X (formerly Twitter) and
supplemented with a more elaborate montage on YouTube, emphasised the
multi-dimensional and coordinated actions of the armed forces that followed
the attack.
The visual compilation combined powerful aerial and ground perspectives,
including drone surveillance, missile strikes, precision bombing footage, and
complex tactical planning sessions, all underscoring the scale and
professionalism of the military effort.
Operation Sindoor officially began on May 7, 2025, after The Resistance Front
(TRF)—a Pakistan-backed proxy outfit linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba—had initially
claimed responsibility for the Pahalgam atrocity, only to later deny its
involvement.
Despite these conflicting claims, Indian intelligence traced operational ties
to TRF as well as Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) elements
functioning out of Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). This
assessment led to targeted precision strikes conducted jointly by the Indian
Army, Navy, and Air Force.
The Indian response was described as surgical and sovereign in nature,
highlighting that the strikes were not influenced by any third-party mediation
but were instead direct exercises of India’s right to self-defence.
Critical terror launchpads, weapons depots, and training camps were decimated
using a combination of aerial bombardments, missile precision strikes, and
monitored ground action. The video presented by the Army specifically stressed
India’s evolving doctrine—marked by restraint unless provoked, followed by
decisive retaliation in the event of grave terrorist aggression.
A key portion of the shared clip featured Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, the Director
General of Military Operations (DGMO) of India, who revealed that during the
course of events, it was actually his Pakistani counterpart who proposed the
cessation of hostilities.
This statement was perceived to be a deliberate message, reinforcing India’s
stance as both firm in defending its sovereignty and principled in ending
conflict once its immediate mission objectives were accomplished.
The conflict initiated by Operation Sindoor triggered a short but intense
military exchange between May 7 and May 10, 2025. In retaliation for India’s
targeted counter-terror strikes, Pakistan attempted an offensive against
Indian military bases, though these efforts were rapidly contained.
India escalated with calibrated counter-attacks on several Pakistani military
installations, effectively neutralising Pakistan’s capacity to sustain further
operations. Following this decisive phase, a ceasefire was mutually agreed
upon.
The overarching narrative pushed by the Army’s video was one of clarity and
resolve: “A new line is drawn: India will not stop until terrorism is wiped
out.” This articulation reflects the broader strategic recalibration of New
Delhi’s counter-terror doctrine—placing increasing reliance on
technology-driven warfare, precision-led deterrence, and joint-force
operational coordination.
The YouTube montage accompanying the clip reinforced this portrayal of
preparedness and execution. It showcased a blend of modern warfare
technologies—including drone surveillance systems, satellite-backed real-time
intelligence gathering, and long-range missile precision—alongside the human
element of grit, discipline, and strategy, attributing the operation’s success
to the balance between cutting-edge innovation and the professionalism of
India’s armed forces.
Ultimately, Operation Sindoor has come to stand as both a powerful retaliatory
measure for the Pahalgam massacre and a symbolic demonstration of India’s
steadfast commitment to eliminating terrorism at its roots.
The operation underscored the nation’s willingness to act unilaterally and
decisively in defence of its citizens, while simultaneously affirming a larger
strategic message—India’s fight against terrorism is uncompromising,
sovereign, and determined to continue until safe havens across the border are
completely dismantled.
