Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong held wide-ranging and fruitful talks at Hyderabad House in New Delhi on September 4, 2025, marking a significant step in strengthening the India-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Their discussions spanned multiple areas including trade and investment, advanced manufacturing, connectivity, digitalisation, healthcare and medicine, skilling, sustainability, defence and security, as well as people-to-people and cultural connections.

Both leaders engaged on regional and global issues of mutual interest and adopted a strategic Roadmap for the partnership that sets a clear direction for future cooperation across these sectors.

The meeting underscored a robust bilateral relationship that goes beyond traditional diplomacy, rooted in shared values and mutual interests. PM Modi emphasised cooperation in combatting terrorism, articulating the need for global solidarity against this common threat.

The two leaders inaugurated the JN Port PSA Mumbai Terminal Phase-II, symbolising deepening maritime cooperation. Several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed, covering cooperation in green and digital shipping corridors, space sector collaboration, civil aviation training and R&D, digital asset innovation, and a National Center of Excellence for Skilling in advanced manufacturing based in Chennai.

These agreements reflect a multifaceted partnership that integrates economic growth with technological innovation, sustainability, and security cooperation.

PM Modi highlighted Singapore's critical role as a pillar of India’s Act East Policy and its support for India's advanced manufacturing, semiconductor ecosystem, and green economy initiatives.

Singaporean PM Wong reiterated the resilience and trust underpinning the partnership and pledged continued support for India's skill development and technological advancement projects.

The visit coincides with the 60th anniversary of India-Singapore diplomatic relations, symbolising a mature partnership poised for future expansion and enhanced collaboration on bilateral, regional, and global challenges.

This comprehensive engagement emphasised mutual growth opportunities and a shared vision for peace, progress, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.
