The Tenth BRICS Industry Ministers’ Meeting concluded in Jaipur, Rajasthan, under India’s BRICS Chairship 2026.

The gathering brought together Industry Ministers and senior representatives from BRICS member countries to deliberate on strengthening industrial capabilities, harnessing technological transformation, and expanding opportunities for collaborative action. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry shared the details in a press release.

The engagement was held under the BRICS Partnership on New Industrial Revolution (PartNIR) and followed the theme “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability.” Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal welcomed delegates to Jaipur, describing it as a city that blends centuries of craftsmanship with modern industrial aspirations.

He emphasised that aspirations must be translated into practical innovation and cooperation, urging BRICS countries to leverage complementary strengths to build resilient industries. He noted that PartNIR has become the principal mechanism for collaboration.

Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada reaffirmed India’s commitment to stronger industrial partnerships among BRICS members. He highlighted the importance of cooperation, innovation, and mutual trust in building a resilient and inclusive industrial future.

He recalled the BRICS journey beginning with the inaugural Summit in Yekaterinburg, Russia, in 2009, and appreciated Brazil’s leadership during its 2025 Chairship. He stressed that India seeks to provide continuity while fostering confidence among businesses, investors, and innovators, advancing practical cooperation that delivers tangible outcomes.

Goyal apprised the gathering of progress achieved under India’s Chairship through PartNIR. He highlighted deliberations by the Advisory Group and thematic Working Groups across four priority areas identified by India.

These included finalisation of the Framework for Cooperation in the SME Working Group, adoption of Terms of Reference and Action Plan for the Working Group on Photovoltaic Industry, and finalisation of the Action Plan on innovation-led growth by Startups.

He also underscored the importance of resilient transport and logistics systems, including GIS-based Infrastructure Planning and City Logistics Planning.

A major outcome was the adoption of the Joint Declaration of the Tenth BRICS Industry Ministers’ Meeting. The Declaration reflects the collective commitment of member countries to move beyond dialogue toward implementing practical instruments of cooperation that strengthen industries and improve lives.

Industry Ministers and Heads of Delegation shared national perspectives, highlighting policy initiatives, priorities, and achievements in promoting industrial development. Statements underscored shared commitment to strengthening industrial capabilities, accelerating digital and technological transformation, fostering resilient and inclusive ecosystems, and enhancing cooperation to address common challenges.

Member countries reaffirmed the importance of PartNIR as a key platform for advancing collaboration, knowledge sharing, capacity building, and industrial innovation. Delegations welcomed progress under India’s Chairship, noting that initiatives undertaken would contribute to strengthening institutional cooperation, fostering innovation, and supporting resilient, competitive, and future-ready industries across BRICS.

India is also hosting the 16th BRICS Trade Ministers’ Meeting in Jaipur on 7 August 2026, following the Third Meeting of the BRICS Contact Group on Economic and Trade Issues (CGETI) held in New Delhi on 3–4 August.

The Trade Ministerial Meeting will be chaired by Piyush Goyal and attended by Jitin Prasada and Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal. Trade Ministers and senior officials from BRICS countries will deliberate on international trade and economic cooperation.

Under the overarching theme “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability,” discussions have centred on strengthening the multilateral trading system, enhancing MSME participation in international trade, fostering resilient and diversified global value chains, and facilitating seamless cross-border digitally delivered services.

Visiting Ministers and delegations will also participate in a cultural excursion to City Palace and Hawa Mahal, showcasing India’s rich heritage. Technical sessions will provide opportunities to exchange views on strengthening trade and economic cooperation.

The BRICS Trade Ministers’ Meeting marks a significant milestone under India’s Chairship and reaffirms India’s commitment to promoting an open, inclusive, transparent, equitable, and rules-based multilateral trading system with the WTO at its core.

The deliberations are expected to contribute to India’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 by fostering resilient supply chains, innovation-driven growth, stronger MSME participation in international trade, and deeper economic cooperation among emerging economies.
