‘Will Be Difficult For Them To Save Face If I Make Disclosure’: Rajnath Singh’s Jibe At Congress On China Row
Rahul Gandhi had said that if UPA was in power it would have thrown out China in less than 15 minutes. He had also asked as to why those sitting in power are scared of naming China which has entered Indian territory. India and China have been locked in a bitter standoff along the LAC since April-May
Patna: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday hit out at the Congress party over its repeated attacks at the Centre over the border tension between India and China and said that it will be difficult for the opposition to save face if he makes disclosure on the matter.
“The opposition parties and the Congress is questioning the bravery of our soldiers. It's being said that China has captured 1200 square km of land, it will be difficult for them to save face if I make disclosure,” Singh said while addressing a public rally in Patna.
He further lauded the Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives in clashes with Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh and said that they showed exemplary courage and valour.
Several opposition parties and Congress have been making repeated attacks at the Centre and Prime Minister Modi over his government’s stand on the ongoing border standoff with China in Ladakh.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had said in a recent political rally that China had captured "1200 sq km" of Indian land.
Cong's Repeated Attacks At Centre Over China Row
Earlier this month, Gandhi had said that if UPA was in power it would have thrown out China in less than 15 minutes. The former Congress chief had also asked as to why those sitting in power are scared of naming China which has entered Indian territory.
India and China have been locked in a bitter standoff along the LAC since April-May over the transgressions by the Chinese Army in multiple areas in eastern Ladakh. The tension between the two countries escalated following the June 15-16 Galwan Valley clash in which 20 Indian Army soldiers including a Colonel were killed.
Since then, the two sides have held several rounds of talks at military and diplomatic levels to end the deadlock but there has been no significant headway as of now.
