BEL And Ananth Technologies Sign Pact To Develop Indigenous Defence And Aerospace Systems

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Bengaluru-based Ananth Technologies Private Limited (ATL) to jointly design, develop and manufacture advanced electronic systems and subsystems for the defence and aerospace sector, with a strong emphasis on indigenous capabilities.
The collaboration will cover missiles, radars, satellites and navigation systems, strengthening India’s strategic programs and reducing reliance on imported technologies.
The MoU was signed in Bengaluru on 19 August 2026. The agreement was exchanged between Shri Anoop Kumar Rai, Director (Marketing), BEL, and Shri Anurup Pavuluri, Managing Director, ATL, in the presence of Shri Manoj Jain, Chairman and Managing Director, BEL. Senior officials including Smt Ruchi Pant, General Manager (Technology Planning), BEL, and Shri A.K. Singh, General Manager (Strategic Planning), BEL, were also present at the ceremony.
The partnership envisages cooperation across critical technology domains such as missiles, radars, satellites and navigation systems. BEL and ATL will jointly explore opportunities to design, develop, manufacture, integrate, test and produce advanced systems and subsystems for defence and aerospace applications.
The collaboration will focus on indigenous design and development, system engineering, electronics manufacturing, integration, testing and validation, ensuring that future strategic programs are executed with maximum self-reliance.
BEL, a Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, has extensive experience in developing and manufacturing sophisticated electronic systems for the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force.
Its portfolio spans radars, missile systems, military communications, naval systems, electronic warfare and avionics, C4I systems, electro-optics, tank electronics, gun and weapon system upgrades, anti-submarine warfare, electronic components, AI solutions, cyber security, arms and ammunition, seekers and unmanned systems.
BEL has also diversified into non-defence domains such as homeland security, rail and metro solutions, civil aviation, medical electronics, healthcare, jammers, anti-drone systems, e-vehicles and space electronics. The company is certified at AS 9100 Rev D, CMMI Level 5, ISO 27001:2013 (ISMS) and is empanelled with CERT-In.
Ananth Technologies, with over three decades of experience, is a leading Indian aerospace and defence technology company specialising in satellite systems, launch vehicle avionics, missile electronics, navigation systems, RF and seeker technologies, aerospace electronics manufacturing and system integration.

It will reduce dependence on imported technologies and enhance the country’s ability to develop next-generation systems for the armed forces and space programs.
The partnership also reflects the growing trend of cooperation between defence public sector enterprises and private technology companies, which is becoming central to India’s strategy of deepening its indigenous defence industrial base.
By combining BEL’s established capabilities in defence electronics with ATL’s specialised expertise in aerospace and advanced manufacturing, the partnership is poised to deliver scalable, future-ready solutions for India’s strategic requirements.
