HSL Achieves Early Undocking of Three Vessels Strengthening Maritime Repair Capabilities

Hindustan Shipyard Limited has achieved another milestone in its Ship Repair Complex at Visakhapatnam by successfully undocking three vessels seven days ahead of schedule.
The operation involved two Naval platforms and one Coast Guard vessel, underscoring the shipyard’s growing efficiency in handling multiple complex repair projects simultaneously.
In addition to these undocking operations, afloat repairs of the Great Ship Prachi were completed within the scheduled timelines. This accomplishment demonstrates HSL’s ability to maintain repair and refit works across several Defence and Commercial vessels without compromising on quality or deadlines, even under adverse weather conditions.
The early completion was made possible through meticulous planning, close inter-agency coordination, and the dedicated efforts of Team HSL. Accelerated dry dock activities ensured that repairs were finished ahead of schedule while maintaining strict adherence to safety and operational standards.
This achievement reflects the increasing operational capacity of HSL’s Ship Repair Complex, which continues to reduce vessel turnaround time. With multiple Defence and Commercial vessels currently under repair and a strong pipeline of upcoming orders, the shipyard is consolidating its position as a dependable partner for maritime repair and refit services.
The growing return of vessels to Visakhapatnam highlights the confidence of customers in HSL’s quality, timely execution, and reliability. The accomplishment also strengthens India’s maritime readiness by ensuring that critical platforms are returned to service faster, supporting both defence preparedness and commercial shipping requirements.
