Bharat Forge Strikes Dual Defence Partnerships with UAE and UK Firms For 155mm Howitzer Barrels And UAV Tech

In a major boost to India’s defence sector, Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited (KSSL), the defence arm of Bharat Forge, has signed a landmark contract with UAE-based GRADEONE for the supply of 155mm howitzer barrels. On the same day, Bharat Forge sealed a strategic MoU with UK’s Windracers Limited to advance heavy-lift drone operations in India.
Landmark Artillery Pact with UAE
On September 11, 2025, MP3 International, a subsidiary of GRADEONE, announced its agreement with KSSL for the production and supply of 155mm large-calibre howitzer barrels—critical components in long-range artillery systems. These barrels are crucial for ensuring reliability, extended service life, and high-explosive fire support.
The accord, signed by Khalifa Al Ali, CEO of MP3 International, and Neelesh Tungar, CEO of KSSL, marks the first-ever collaboration between an Indian and Emirati company for a core defence component. The deal not only strengthens UAE–India bilateral defence ties but also opens pathways for expansion into Southeast Asia and MENA defence markets.
MoU With UK’s Windracers On UAV Technology
At the DSEI 2025 defence exhibition in London, Bharat Forge entered a two-year MoU with Windracers Limited, makers of the Windracers ULTRA heavy-lift UAV.
The partnership will focus on:
Localisation of UAV technology in IndiaJoint trials to adapt the ULTRA for military and civil Indian needsDeployment for logistics missions across challenging terrains
Potential applications include Carrier On Board Delivery (COD) for the Indian Navy and critical supply missions for the Army and Air Force, underlining the dual military–civilian utility of the system.
These parallel agreements highlight India’s evolving role as both a defence supplier and a hub for advanced military technologies. While the UAE partnership bolsters artillery manufacturing and defence cooperation, the Windracers MoU positions India at the forefront of next-generation UAV logistics solutions.
