'The Gates Foundation Values Our Partnership With The Government of India Immensely': Bill Gates On PM Modi's 75th Birthday

Leaders and global figures across politics, business, and philanthropy extended greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 75th birthday, reflecting India’s growing international stature and partnerships.
Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft and co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, praised Modi’s leadership, wishing him health and strength while noting that the foundation deeply values its collaboration with the Indian government to advance the Viksit Bharat vision and to share India-driven innovations with the Global South. Gates underscored the strong focus on joint work in health, development, and inclusive growth.
Atul Keshap, president of the United States India Business Council (USIBC), conveyed greetings on behalf of the organisation, lauding Modi’s personal rapport with business leaders and highlighting USIBC’s commitment to advancing India–US commercial ties.
From New Zealand, Prime Minister Christopher Luxon offered a personal video message, warmly addressing Modi as a “good friend” and applauding his vision of India becoming a developed nation by 2047. Luxon emphasized eagerness to strengthen India–New Zealand cooperation in prosperity and security, while recalling the warmth shown during his India visit earlier in 2025.
Former US President Donald Trump also called Modi personally, praising his “tremendous job” as Prime Minister and thanking him for India’s support in efforts to secure a resolution to the Russia–Ukraine conflict.
Trump’s post on Truth Social highlighted the camaraderie between the two leaders. Modi, in response, thanked Trump publicly on X, calling him “my friend” and affirming India’s commitment to enhancing the Comprehensive and Global Strategic Partnership with the United States, while backing Trump’s push for a peaceful settlement of the Ukraine war.
Together, the range of greetings—from philanthropists to global business leaders and heads of state—signified not only Modi’s personal milestone but also the recognition of India’s pivotal role in shaping global development, economic partnerships, and geopolitical dialogue.
