The Indian Armed Forces have successfully concluded Exercise Dweep Shakti, a high-intensity tri-service manoeuvre designed to test the collective mettle of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

Conducted between 24 and 28 March, the exercise served as a rigorous validation of the nation’s integrated rapid-response capabilities, specifically focusing on the complexities of coastal and island defence.

At the heart of the drills was the execution of seamless amphibious assaults, where personnel and machinery transitioned from sea to land under simulated combat conditions.

These operations required surgical precision, ensuring that the heavy armour of the Army and the transport capabilities of the Navy functioned as a single, cohesive unit to secure strategic footholds.

Maritime dominance operations formed a critical pillar of the exercise, with naval assets patrolling and securing the surrounding waters to ensure total control of the maritime environment. By maintaining a clear theatre of operations, the forces demonstrated their ability to neutralise peripheral threats before they could interfere with the primary objectives on the coastline.

The integration of next-generation technology marked a significant leap forward in modernised warfare tactics. Drones and advanced surveillance equipment were deployed extensively to provide real-time intelligence, allowing commanders to orchestrate complex beach landings with enhanced situational awareness and reduced risk to personnel.

Beyond the physical drills, the exercise was a vital laboratory for refining integrated tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs). By synchronising the distinct operational cultures of the three services, the military has reinforced its multi-domain capability, ensuring that air, sea, and land assets can communicate and strike with unified intent.

The successful conclusion of the exercise underscores a steadfast commitment to safeguarding India’s expansive maritime frontiers and sovereign island territories. It reaffirms that the armed forces are not only mission-ready but are also evolving at pace with contemporary security challenges through interoperability and technological superiority.
