A Young Uttarakhand Tech Innovator Tests Electric Flying Car Prototype

A young innovator from Uttarakhand’s Almora district has achieved a remarkable milestone in India’s pursuit of advanced mobility, India Today reported.
Ravi Tamta, hailing from Kaflikhan village near Jageshwar Dham, has successfully test-flown the prototype of his electric personal flying vehicle, the HAPIDA SKYNeX, .
Developed through his start-up, Hapida Sky Private Limited, the achievement signals years of dedicated research and development finally taking shape in the skies.
The prototype flight marks the first major breakthrough for the project, moving the vision of personal air mobility closer to reality. Unlike conventional flying machines that rely on aviation fuel or experimental ethanol-based propulsion systems, the SKYNeX is designed as a fully electric vehicle.
This makes it an environmentally friendly alternative, producing zero tailpipe emissions and aligning with global efforts to reduce carbon footprints.
Ravi Tamta has emphasised that the project aims to make safe, affordable, and sustainable personal air transportation accessible in India. The demonstration highlights the growing capabilities of Indian start-ups in developing advanced mobility technologies, while also putting the spotlight on Uttarakhand’s emerging innovation ecosystem.
