Two suspected Pakistani terrorists were killed by Border Security Force personnel after an alleged attempt to illegally enter India through the International Border in Punjab's Tarn Taran district on Friday.

The incident occurred around midday when BSF troops monitoring the sensitive frontier observed suspicious activity near the border fence. Security personnel challenged the individuals and issued multiple warnings, but officials stated that the suspects continued moving towards the Indian side.

With the situation escalating and a possible security threat perceived, BSF troops opened fire, resulting in the deaths of both men at the scene.

The identities of the deceased remain unknown, and authorities are working to confirm their nationality and background. The bodies have been transferred to Punjab Police for post-mortem examinations.

The BSF and Punjab Police are jointly investigating the episode, focusing on the motives behind the attempted crossing and whether any broader infiltration plan was involved.

Officials also indicated that a flag meeting between the BSF and Pakistan Rangers is likely to be held to discuss the incident. The India-Pakistan border in Punjab remains a highly sensitive security zone, with border forces maintaining constant surveillance to prevent infiltration, smuggling and other cross-border activities.
