Siliguri: Panic struck around Phansidewa region, a border area between India and Bangladesh, under Siliguri sub-division in north Bengal when four objects, similar to missiles, were noticed today in the Mahananda canal forcing the BSF and CID to rush and cordoned off area.

The Border Security Force (BSF), which guards the Indian border with Bangladesh in the region, called their experts and senior officials to move around onto the spot and determine exactly what were the objects lying on be bed of water canal.

The bomb squad of the CID was also called as the local police and BSF have been guarding the area.

Four missile like objects (yellow and green) have been visible on the water bed of the Mahananda canal.
