Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri met UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation and Special Envoy for India, Reem Al Hashimy, in New Delhi on September 10, 2025, for a comprehensive review of the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

This multi-faceted partnership encompasses critical areas such as trade, investment, defence, security, technology, energy, education, culture, and people-to-people ties. The discussions focused on assessing ongoing initiatives and the implementation of decisions taken during previous high-level meetings, while also exploring future opportunities for cooperation in these domains.

The meeting was a follow-up to a similar engagement in June 2025, where both sides evaluated the current state of bilateral ties and prospects for future collaboration. The Indian Embassy in UAE highlighted that their mid-year review took stock of growing and expanding cooperation, affirming continuous strong bilateral relations shaped by high-level visits and exchanges.

Bilateral trade stood at USD 100.05 billion for the financial year 2024-25, underlining the economic depth of this partnership. Shared views were also exchanged on global and regional issues of mutual interest, with particular attention to the overall situation in West Asia.

In addition to meeting Reem Al Hashimy, Vikram Misri engaged with key UAE officials in June 2025, including Ali Al Nuaim, Chairman of the Defence, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federal National Council. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms, emphasising enhanced parliamentary cooperation as part of their strategic alignment.

This was complemented by discussions with Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Tolerance, where Misri expressed gratitude for the warm reception extended to an all-party Indian delegation. Their conversations emphasized the shared spirit of harmony and tolerance that underpins India-UAE relations.

The sustained high-level engagements and strategic dialogues between India and the UAE demonstrate a robust partnership aimed at deepening mutual interests across multiple sectors. This ongoing collaboration reflects not only the strong historical and people-to-people ties, with a vibrant Indian diaspora of over 4.3 million in the UAE, but also a shared vision for sustainable development, security cooperation, and cultural exchange for the benefit of both countries' citizens.
