The Indian Air Force’s Training Command concluded its annual Commanders’ Conference in Bangalore from 10 to 12 September 2026, with a strong emphasis on aligning training structures to strategic objectives and enhancing operational capabilities in a complex security environment.

Air Marshal S Shrinivas presided over the event, which included reviews, guest lectures, and awards recognising excellence across training establishments.

The Training Command Commanders’ Conference 2026 was hosted at Headquarters Training Command, Bangalore. The three-day event brought together commanders of all training establishments under Training Command, along with senior officials from HQ TC.

The central theme of the conference was the alignment of training verticals with the broader strategic objectives of the Indian Air Force. This focus was intended to strengthen operational capabilities and ensure preparedness in an increasingly complex and evolving environment.

Air Marshal S Shrinivas, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Training Command, presided over the conference. In his address, he emphasised the importance of transformative training as a means to enhance combat readiness. He highlighted the need for continuous adaptation of training methodologies to meet emerging operational requirements.

Senior branch heads from HQ TC presented comprehensive reviews of their respective domains. These presentations outlined initiatives undertaken to overcome challenges, improve training effectiveness, and achieve organisational training objectives. The reviews also underscored the importance of innovation and adaptability in training structures.

Guest lectures were delivered during the conference, covering critical topics such as the future acquisition plan of the IAF and policy updates concerning the induction of Agniveervayus. These sessions provided valuable insights into upcoming developments and helped commanders align training strategies with future force requirements.

Air Marshal Shrinivas commended the excellence displayed by various training establishments. He noted that their contributions were vital in maintaining the high standards of the IAF’s training ecosystem.

As part of the event, trophies were presented to stations in recognition of outstanding achievements in operations, maintenance, and administration. The prestigious ‘Pride of the Training Command’ trophy was awarded to Air Force Station Yelahanka, acknowledging its exemplary performance and contribution to the objectives of Training Command.

The conference reaffirmed the IAF’s commitment to modernising its training ecosystem. By focusing on transformative training and aligning with strategic objectives, the Training Command aims to ensure that personnel remain future-ready and capable of meeting evolving operational challenges.

The discussions also highlighted the importance of integrating advanced technologies into training programs. With the IAF’s future acquisition plans and induction of Agniveer-vayus, the Training Command is expected to play a pivotal role in preparing the next generation of air warriors.

The event concluded with a strong message of adaptability, innovation, and excellence, reinforcing the Training Command’s role as a cornerstone of the IAF’s operational readiness.
