Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu extended warm birthday greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, praising his leadership for transforming India into a world power.

He highlighted the unprecedented partnership between India and Israel, describing the friendship between the two nations as stronger than ever and expressing confidence that it would reach even greater heights in the future.

In his message posted on X, Netanyahu said, “Happy birthday, Narendra! Prime Minister @narendramodi. Your leadership has transformed India into a world power.” He added that the two democracies had built an unprecedented partnership and would continue to elevate it further. Netanyahu also wished Modi many more years of leadership, health, and fulfilment.

The greetings came as Prime Minister Modi turned 76, with leaders from across the world joining in to extend their wishes. Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Modi and lauded his role in strengthening the special and privileged strategic partnership between India and Russia. The Russian Embassy in India confirmed Putin’s message, which underscored the depth of bilateral ties.

President Droupadi Murmu also extended her wishes, noting Modi’s 25 years of public service and his contribution to good governance and inclusive development. Her message reflected the domestic recognition of Modi’s long-standing political career and his impact on India’s governance model.

Prime Minister Modi was born in 1950 to Hiraba and Damodardas Modi in Vadnagar, located in Gujarat’s Mehsana district. He became the first Prime Minister of India to be born after Independence, taking the oath of office on 26 May 2014.

His tenure has been marked by ambitious reforms, global outreach, and efforts to position India as a leading power in international affairs.

The Bharatiya Janata Party is marking Modi’s birthday with the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, a nationwide initiative running from 17 September to 17 October. The campaign includes a series of service-oriented programs and public outreach efforts, reflecting the party’s emphasis on connecting governance with grassroots participation.

The greetings from Netanyahu, Putin, Murmu, and other leaders underline both the global and domestic recognition of Modi’s leadership.

They highlight India’s growing stature on the world stage, its deepening partnerships with key allies, and the celebration of Modi’s personal journey from Vadnagar to the highest office in the country.
