Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday expressed his gratitude to leaders from across the world who extended warm wishes on the occasion of his 76th birthday.

In a series of posts on X, he thanked World Health Organisation Chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and Dominica’s President Roosevelt Skerrit.

The WHO Chief not only conveyed birthday greetings but also appreciated India’s successful hosting of the BRICS Leaders’ Summit, highlighting the importance of placing health high on the agenda.

Responding to Dr. Tedros, Prime Minister Modi said it was a pleasure to meet him during the BRICS Summit and reaffirmed India’s commitment to advancing cooperation in global health and other shared fields.

To Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, he expressed deep appreciation for his warm wishes and sentiments, emphasising the cherished friendship between the two countries.

In his message to Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister Modi conveyed confidence in further strengthening the India–Italy Special Strategic Partnership, which has seen significant progress in recent years.

He also thanked Dominican President Roosevelt Skerrit for his greetings and goodwill, noting that India values its close friendship with Dominica and its people.

These messages came as leaders across the globe extended greetings to Prime Minister Modi on his birthday, reflecting India’s growing diplomatic engagement and goodwill.

Earlier in the day, President Droupadi Murmu also extended her wishes, recalling Prime Minister Modi’s 25 years of public service and his contribution to good governance and inclusive development.

Prime Minister Modi was born in 1950 to Hiraba and Damodardas Modi in Vadnagar, located in Gujarat’s Mehsana district. On 26 May 2014, he took the oath as Prime Minister of India, becoming the first leader to hold the post who was born after Independence.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party is conducting the 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' nationwide from 17 September to 17 October to mark his birthday, with a series of service-oriented programs and public outreach initiatives.
