Prime Minister Narendra Modi received warm birthday greetings from the embassies of Vietnam, the Netherlands and Nepal in India on his 76th birthday.

Each mission conveyed wishes for his health, happiness and continued success, while also emphasising the importance of strengthening bilateral ties with India.

The Embassy of Vietnam extended its “warmest birthday wishes” to Prime Minister Modi and expressed its desire to further enhance the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The message highlighted Vietnam’s commitment to deepening cooperation with India under the Enhanced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework.

The Embassy of the Netherlands for India, Nepal and Bhutan also conveyed greetings, recalling the signing of the strategic partnership during Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the Netherlands in May 2026. The embassy noted that this agreement elevated bilateral collaboration and has continued to strengthen ties between the two nations.

The Embassy of Nepal in India joined in extending birthday wishes, expressing hope that the longstanding friendship between Nepal and India would continue to flourish. The message emphasised the close bonds between the peoples of both countries and their shared aspirations for deeper cooperation.

Earlier, the US Embassy in India also extended birthday greetings on behalf of President Donald Trump. The post wished Prime Minister Modi good health and happiness in the year ahead, underscoring the importance of the India–US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was born on 17 September 1950 to Hiraba and Damodardas Modi in Vadnagar, located in Gujarat’s Mehsana district. He became the first Prime Minister of India to be born after Independence when he took the oath of office on 26 May 2014.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party is organising the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ across the country from 17 September to 17 October to mark Prime Minister Modi’s birthday. The campaign will feature a series of service-oriented programs and public outreach initiatives, reflecting the party’s emphasis on social service and citizen engagement.

This occasion not only highlights Prime Minister Modi’s personal milestone but also reflects the breadth of India’s diplomatic relations, with greetings from nations across Asia, Europe and North America. It underscores the recognition of his leadership and the growing importance of India’s partnerships in the global arena.
